First Steps In Adding Titles to a Director animation

October 2006

< Previous | Director >

Step 6 - Adding The Background Image

Having got the image to the right size, add it to the cast by importing it via the file menu. This should now show up as a second item in the cast window.

Drag the image from the cast to the stage : the image gets added to the score on row 2. Stretch the time period for the image to match that of the title sequence.

The image is now on top of the title as it moves up the stage. Swap them over by dragging the title in the score to row 3, leaving row 1 empty. Now drag the image to row 1 and then the title to row 2.

Score background image

As you can see, the title has a white opaque background. Select the title in the score, then from the sprite tab in the property inspector change the ink value to transparent.

Without a white background the title is more difficult to read. Select the title in the score and change its blend to 50%.

Finally, change the text of the title to read "The Lone Ranger" by double-clicking on the cast member and changing the text in the editing window.
