A Scrolling Background Animation

Introduction:

Creating a scrolling background animation or film loop using Photoshop ... CS2 ... but you could use the same principles in a number of different applications, especially Image Ready, The Gimp etc.

Preparation

You could use any (largish) image for this tutorial. The skyline below is a free desktop image from Backgrounds Archive under the Nature Section and I chose the 800x600 version.

Save the image to a folder on your computer. Then, open it in Photoshop and make sure that the image layer is unlocked. You could name the layer skyline if you wished.

Now you are ready to start the tutorial.
